Who is Eligible to Particiapte?
Any registered or licensed family childcare home
Any licensed nonprofit daycare center or one that holds a letter of compliance from NC DHHS
Any for profit daycare center that is licensed and at least 25% of enrolled partcipants are elifible by income under the USDA guidelines.
How does CACFP work?
CACFP reimburses particpating centers, daycare homes, at risk afterschool programs, and emergency shelters for meals served to eligible particpants. It is adminstered at the federal level by the Food and Nutrition Services Branch, an agency of the U. S. Department of Agriculture.
Who does CACFP serve?
Children 12 and younger are eligible to particpate in the program. Approved facilities and providers can receive reimbursement for up to 2 meals and 1 snack or 2 snacks and 1 meal each day. Some adult day centers qualify.
